Positive start from Wrexham, neat interplay from Gaz, Whelan and Aled in the centre. Nathan had lots of joy against a LB quite senior to him in years and Harry went close with a couple of chances. After a skillful exchange between Simon M and Whelan on the left Wrexham won a short, which was bundled in by Rich after a goal line scramble. Following a positive team talk Wrexham continued to pressure Rhyl creating chances but not quite finding the finishing touch.

Following another short, the ball was slipped left to a returning Jarv who cannoned the ball against the back board to provide some much-needed breathing room and a deserved second goal. With ten minutes to go, and nothing to lose Rhyl threw everything at Wrexham and eventually they breached the goal from a close range tap in, Robbie's outstretched glove not enough to keep the ball out. Fortunately, it was not enough and Wrexham held out for a more than deserved win!
